Debbie Goodman-Bhyat

CEO | Entrepreneur | Dancer

For the last 20 years, Debbie has been helping boards and CEOs to diversify their leadership teams, in South Africa, the rest of Africa, and now in the USA.

Currently based in California, she is the founder and CEO of Jack Hammer, a global executive search firm (which has grown to be Africa’s largest); and Virtual Coaching Partners (an online leadership coaching platform), and hiresmiths, a US-based talent advisory firm.

Her newest initiatives include advisory support to Rebel Girls (a global multi-platform girl-driven edutainment company), a diversity study with contributors from Harvard Business School, and an international peer learning program for social entrepreneurs with Summit Series.

“Entrepreneurship and leadership provide daily opportunity for creative endeavor. I love being immersed in this ‘business’, where mastery requires rigor and passion, and the demands for excellence are relentless. Almost as tough as being a dancer.”

New Book: The Living Room Leader

Lead, Hire and Engage the Best Teams, during Covid and beyond

Around mid-March 2020 or thereabouts, many of us became Living Room Leaders (or Bedroom/Kitchen/Garage Leaders), having to figure out new ways to manage, motivate, hire and engage our teams. With no road map, no ‘best practice’ guidelines, and no ‘how to lead remote teams RIGHT NOW’ training manual.

Debbie’s keynote presentations are geared for entrepreneurs and leaders. Topics include ‘Taking Mindfulness to Work’, ‘Love the Cow’, and ‘Inside the Interview’.

Debbie offers one-to-one personalised coaching to entrepreneurs and leaders who are at key pivot points in their entrepreneurial journeys, or careers.
